E575: viminfo: Illegal starting char in line:
2010-11-29 10:58
Problem: You are getting an error about viminfo each time you start vi:
Code:
E575: viminfo: Illegal starting char in line: ^B13
Reason: The .viminfo file in your home directory has been corrupted for some reason.
Solution: Delete the .viminfo file. It is only a history file for vi, so it is not a problem.
Notice the dot at the start of the filename: .viminfo is a hidden file
