Porcini1And then, another of my favourite people, who I haven't seen anywhere near as much as I would like lately (I've been a bit busy), Valda Scheckter from On Trays pops into my work to drop off another gift for me.
In a plain brown paper bag, carefully folded over, is a large, plump, heavy porcini mushroom.
Oh! Porcini! One of my favourite varieties of one of my favourite vegetables. Extremely uncommon in this neck of the woods - short of the heavenly truffle, pretty much king of the fungus heap.
