Kiwis are modest in their habits, and Elizabeth Latham thinks we could be missing out on one of the great treats of gastronomy.
We are definitely not in the lead as a country when it comes to eating mushrooms. Other places in the world outdo us by miles in terms of mushroom consumption.
Our annual consumption amounts to around 2kg per person with an annual production of around 8000 tonnes.
