To be sure, some American young people still choose abstinence -even in New York, the most arousing of US cities.

 

Earlier this year, New York magazine published photo essay that feature some of the city's virgins. They discussed both the cahllenges and joys of saving themselves for the right person.

 

"When I was a lot younger, I always had the idea in my head that I would wait until I was married," said Sarah, 22.

 

"But the older I've gotten, the more I want to wait until I am in love with that person, and I hadn't been there. Sometime soon would be nice. It gets really frustrating in the meantime."
