Recent accounts in the media suggest that there may be a growing number of Chinese university women who spend significant amounts of time searching for husbands.
Rather than risking spinning their wheels for a job that might never materialize, these young women put everthing on hold to find financial and social security. The philosophy seems to be, "Quick! Get me a marriage license, and throw in a house and car while you're at it." Careers come later, if at all.
