Hi,I'm running centOS 4.3 and I just update the kernel to 2.6.17.6. I notice this some 'write protect is off' message on dmesg but I'm not sure if thats normal or not.do you know anything about itCode:

It's just checking to see if the drive/media has a write protect feature, and if so, the status of said feature.

Yep, I get the same message with my serial ATA hard drive. Nothing to worry about.
