Apple's iPhone now brings uniqueness to the US consumer - for a cost of $500 or $600, plus at least $60 in monthly fees. However, the company is no stranger to breakthrough products. Walk on any US university campus, and you'll find hundreds of students walking around with white wires hanging out of their ears. Those wires, of course, lead to one of the company's many generations of iPods.
"I love everything Apple, and this is going to be something that goes down in the history books of cellphone," the 24-year-old Jessica Rodriguez told Reuters in New York City.
She said she'd been queuing to buy the iPhone since Tuesday - three days before Apple officially released the iPhone on June 29. "My dad thinks I'm crazy." She said.
