这是Sting为电影《杀手莱昂》（又名《这个杀手不太冷》）量身定做的片尾曲，不论是电影还是音乐都堪称经典。

看完Leon的片后，一边听着shape of my heart，脑袋里一片空白，有点想哭...

Sting被称为诗人歌手，就是因为他的歌的词都很美，很有深度
这首歌是以一个人通过打扑克牌沉思开始的
这个人打牌不是为了赢钱，也不是为了要名
他是想获得某些灵感和启发
（扑克牌的四个花色在设计之时是有代表意义的：spade是我们说的黑桃，代表权力；club是梅花，代表武力；diamond是方片，代表金钱；heart是红心，就是代表爱）

就是说他要的不是权力，不是武力，也不是金钱，也就是说他要的是爱
最后一句也说这些都不是我内心所要的，也可以说表义这些都不是红心的形状，不是我的红心的形状
他还唱到he may play the jack of diamonds  
he may lay the queen of spades  
he may conceal a king in his hand  
意思是他可以扮演金钱的仆人（jack是扑克牌中的J，就是仆人和士兵的意思）；也可以打权力的皇后这张牌（扑克牌中的Q），他也可以藏一个王牌在手中
这里讲的是作为一个现实的人，他可能有权力，或者少金钱，或者有王牌，有很多角色和面具，但这都不是真实的他，对于他爱的那个人来说，他只有一个面孔，只有爱

可能我的表达不是很好，因为我觉得诗歌的东西就是要意会,听着听着就会有感觉了.

 

It is all about dealing with your emotions and playing them in relationships. He says "...that's not the shape of my heart" money (the diamonds), fighting (the spades and the clubs) are not what he stands for, the heart is even distorted for his heart is real and his heart can feel. He may not be a man that easilty expresses his feelings but he does not hand out too much out when it comes to what he feels but he does pretend like everyone else.  

This song is about life and the games played. Not many people show their true hand and the first verse says it all. Dealing the cards you have and taking the chance that the more cards dealt...the better the chances. Excellent song!  

 

According to Sting one of of his DVD's, the song is about a man who is a master card-player but plays to find some divine, almost spiritual meaning to the probabilities of the game. He is so involved in this game that he is almost emotionless, and this affects his relationships aversely.

"And if I told you that I loved you, you'd maybe think there's something wrong..."

He is not a man used to expressing his feelings, but he wants to. However he knows that he is only a man of one "face", which is the "mask" he hides behind, his poker-face, you could say.

It is a brilliant song, dare I say , my favorite song. Superb lyrics and breath-taking guitar work.  
 
The playing card deck actually developed from the Tarot, so there is something to the idea of reading fate in playing cards. Sting dabbles in that stuff, like reading tea leaves.

The idea of the song is in two parts. First, the dealer reads his own fate in the cards while dealing a game for others. Second, the dealer's poker face extends to the rest of his life, hiding secrets from everyone, even those who think they're close to the truth about him.

Amazing that someone can write a character that cool and inscrutable into a song with only two verses, a middle eight, and a chorus.

Sting's guitarist, Dominic Miller, shares writing credit on this song, for composing the main guitar riff. One of the few Sting songs that he didn't originate musically.
