Sun StorEdge Component Manager 2.0 Basics
Sun StorEdge Component Manager 2.0 is a GUI to monitor the A5x00 and Sun StorEdge T3 Arrays.
It provides the following key features:
Alarm notification
Remote reporting
Viewing of component status and properties
It was previously called Enclosure Manager
Prerequisites for Installing Sun StorEdge Component Manager
The minimum required disk space for the following components is:
/etc - 1 Mbyte
/var - 2 Mbytes
/usr/opt - 35 Mbytes
Required patches are installed
Correct firmware levels are installed
You might need to have the SUNWses package already installed
The Health Monitor
The Health monitor enables you to monitor individual properities and status of hardware components
Examples of health monitoring include checking:
The firmware version of an enclosure
The loop configuration of the physical enclosure
The disk status and size
The temperature of an enclosure
The health summary of all the components within an enclosure
The Configuration Module
Enables you to perform the following tasks:
Specify email addresses and log files for remote reporting of alarms
Disable alarms when hardware reconfiguration is necessary
