Cooking with can be an expensive habit. More and more mushroom varieties are popping up at specialty produce stores and farmers markets. But these edible fungi often come with a hefty per-pound price tag.
Some wild mushrooms such as morels and chanterelles are in fact just that: wild. These sacred fungi cannot be replicated commercially or in a home environment. They grow on their own when and where they choose.
