Staggs hopes to share her family’s love of Shiitake Mushrooms

Staggs hopes to share her family’s love of  farming with other local families through two upcoming classes she will teach at Franklin Technology Center in Joplin. The classes, titled “Raise Laying Chickens in Your Backyard” and “Grow Your Own Mushrooms,” are open to both individual and family registrations, and families in particular are encouraged to enroll.

Staggs, who maintains a farm in rural Carthage with her family, said both classes are a good opportunity for families to try a new project together.
