Burris’ boys soccer team drew a school-record crowd of 315 fans when it faced Hamilton Heights in a regular-season game. The Owls rewarded that crowd with a 3-1 win.
Burris learned Friday it will get another chance to face Hamilton Heights, this time at a neutral site. The two teams will square off in the Class A Sheridan Sectional.
Sectional soccer begins Oct. 6, and dates and times for specific game were not released Friday. Hamilton Heights is ranked No. 15 in the latest Class A Coaches Poll, and Burris is an honorable mention. The Owls are unbeaten at 10-0-1.
Yorktown is hosting a sectional for both boys and girls. On the boys side, Jay County will face Delta and Yorktown will face Central in the opening matchups. The girls side will feature the same matchups, with Central taking on Yorktown and Delta drawing Jay County as its first opponent.
