1 Expansion Draft Pick in Deal That Lands Anthony Kelly
Major League Lacrosse announced Tuesday a trade between the Rochester Rattlers and the Ohio Machine for the 2012 MLL season that sends Greg Bice and Anthony Kelly home to Ohio and deals the No. 1 pick in the Expansion Draft to Rochester.
Four players and a draft pick are to be traded from Rochester to Ohio, in return for two draft picks in the MLL Expansion Draft and two draft picks in the MLL Collegiate Draft. This trade marks the first player moves for the Machine inaugural 2012 season.
Through the trade, the Ohio Machine will acquire three Ohio State University (OSU) alumni, Greg Brice, Anthony Kelly and Stefan Schroder. Ohio has also acquired MLL veteran Brett Garber, son of Ohio Head Coach Ted Garber. The Machine will receive the Rattlers second round (15th overall) MLL Collegiate Draft pick.
In exchange, Rochester has obtained four new draft picks for the 2012 season. For the MLL Expansion Draft, Rochester has gained the first round (1st overall) and the 13th round (25th overall) draft picks. For the MLL Collegiate Draft, Rochester has gained the second round (10th overall) and the third round (18th overall) draft picks. Rochester now has a total of ten picks in the 2012 MLL Collegiate Draft. Five of the ten picks will be in the first three rounds of the draft.
