We have heard it said on several occasions that every man is trying to be Steve McQueen on some level. As more and more younger men probably lack a direct concept of just who Steve McQueen was, that theory may be getting diluted. But if being old Steve means you get to wear this fucking jacket, then we are all in.
This is an updated version of the Universal Racer MK 2 from Lewis Leathers, which was a favorite of McQueen. He was photographed wearing the MK 2 at the Greenhorn Enduro—a 500-mile race across the Mohave Desert—and also showed up in LIFE magazine wearing it. He looked very good.
