This morning at their Fifth Ave. store, UNIQLO officially unveiled their latest line of tennis apparel inspired, modeled, and created for pro tennis star, Novak Djokovic. Launching in the United States on August 27 (the same day as the start of the 2012 U.S. Open Tournament), the collection features 10 activewear garments ranging from shorts, paints, shirts, and warm-up jackets – all which closely resemble the UNIQLO tennis wear worn by Djokovic this year during The French Open, Wimbledon, and 2012 London Olympics.
UNIQLO creative director, Naoki Takizawa, personally worked on the new tennis collection with Djokovic. Takizawa utilized DRY-EX fabrics from Toray Industries for their performance polo shirts and shorts which are sweat-absorbant and quick-drying. Break-away zippers are found on the track jackets in the UNIQLO tennis collection.
