The notes' of day02 is coming out ........
This part is talking about planning.Planing determines what needs to be
done,who will do it ,how long it will take,and how much it will cost.
1.Clearly define the project objective.
2.Divide and subdivide the project scope into major"pieces,",or work
packages. WBS(work breakdown structure)
3.Define the specific activities that need to be performed for each work
package in order to accomplish the project objective.
4.Graphically portray the activities in the form of a network diagram.
5.Make a time estimate for how long it will take to complete each activity.
6.Make a cost estimate for each activity.
7.Calculate a project schedule and budget to determine whether the project can
be completed within the required time,with the allotted funds,and with the
available resources. (baseline plan.)
Critical success factors
1.planning and communication are critical to successful project management.
2.Taking the time to develop a well-thought-out plan before the start of the
project is critical to the successful accomplishment of any project.
3.A project must have a well-defined objective
4.Involve the customer as a partner in the successful outcome of the project
through active participation during the project.
5.Achieving customer satisfaction requires ongoing communication with the
customer to keep the customer informed and to determinie whether expectations
have changed.
6.The key to effective project control is measuring actual progress and
comparing it to planned progress on a timely and regular basis and taking
corrective action immediately,if necessary.
7.After the conclusion of a project,the project performance should be evaluated
to learn what could be improved if a similar project were to be done in the
future.Feedback should be obtained from the customer and the project team.
