就在大家还在为华硕eeePC违反GPL协议争论不休的时候，华硕官方已经做出了正式的回应。他们于27日在其官方网站上正式发布声明。在声明中他们写道：就华硕目前说了解的，现在提供下载的源码已经很完备了。假如你认为还有部分在恰当的开源源码授权下应当提供下载的，可以联系我们，并请提供详细的产品或者代码模块。我们会竭尽所能满足你的要求，只要你的代码部分是符合GPL协议的。

他们的声明中还写道：我们即将发布EeePC的开发包，这样就使得开源社区可以很好的利用EeePC来进行开发，并且很容易使得相关开源软件移植到EeePC平台上来。我们非常关注开源社区对我们EeePC平台的关心，希望大家不仅仅把EeePC当成一个商业产品，更应该该平台上施展拳脚，利用开源开发优势，发挥该平台的潜能。
