The eighth-graders have read ‘Romeo and Juliet’
The effort from D’Angelo, the cast and the crew resonated with the students and instructors who filled the Larry D. Carter theater at CCA on Nov. 12.
“It’s the exposure to the story. The eighth-graders have read ‘Romeo and Juliet’ before coming here, and I think we’re going to be able to bring it back to the classroom and analyze it,” said Samantha Kennedy, a teacher at the Rocky Mountain Deaf School. “They can compare it to the actual play that they’ve read. I really like it; I think that Romeo and Juliet do on a good job of taking on the innocence that they’re supposed to have. It’s clear with the interpreters.”
The college’s interpretation pleased Greta Wolcott, 13, a student from RMDS who’d
pandora come for the preview performance. While she prefers the original, she was entertained by CCA’s new vision, Wolcott said through an interpreter.
