The detergents join products such as Tide ColdWater
The move will bring to the market new powder versions of Tide, Gain, Cheer, Dreft, and Ivory Snow that will clean the same number of loads using less detergent than noncompacted formulas, the company said.
The detergents join products such as Tide ColdWater, PUR and Cascade Action Pacs that the company says already help reduce waste, save energy or save water.
The new detergents will clean the same number of loads in a detergent carton that is smaller. The compacted formulas and smaller cartons also allow for reduced fuel consumption for transport and a reduction in packaging.
"Powder compaction is a win-win from operations all the way through consumer use," said Len Sauers, P&G's vice president of sustainability.
