considering they sell DNC cards and they sell Leprechaun Days buttons
For the past five or six years a group of crafty Rosemount women has dedicated their time to making craft items for the senior group. They sell the items at fall craft shows, and donate the money they make. Last year their handmade items brought in $600.
“That was really quite good, considering they sell DNC cards and they sell Leprechaun Days buttons and they usually figure they get like $1,000,” said Mary Ahrens, who has been part of the group since the beginning. “I think we did really well.”
Ahrens was a crafter long before she joined the group. She and a few others started getting together to make things because they were looking for something to do. The card games popular among many of the other seniors didn’t appeal to them, so they found somethin else.
Group members work on their own projects, but they also work together on projects suggested by other members of the group. If something is popular, they bring it back for another year.
