The Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct
Williamson County commissioners voted today to send a list of grievances about
songjia County Attorney Jana Duty to the State Bar of Texas.Commissioner Cynthia Long said Duty had violated several “rules” governing competent and diligent representation, communication, confidentiality of information, conflict of interest, truthfulness in statements to others, communications with one represented by counsel, judicial and legal officials and misconduct.
The rules that Long cited are from the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct that govern the actions of lawyers in the state of Texas.
The commissioners declined to provide details about the violations.Duty said in a written statement that “if there was any merit or substance to this complaint, it would have been politicized and paraded before the
songjia public by this court months ago.”
