The Selma Original Free Will Baptist Church

The Selma Original Free Will Baptist Church The Selma Original Free Will Baptist Church will celebrate the observance of health Hanging of the Greens on Sunday, Nov. 28 at 6 p.m. A soup and sandwich supper will be served following the service.

Rev. Frank Grubbs and the congregation invite the public to share in this old English custom of preparing for the Holy season by decorating with evergreens and using other traditional decorations such as the Advent wreath which holds three purple candles, representing royalty (hope), humility (peace) and penitence (joy).

Also one rose-colored candle, representing joy and happiness (love). One large white health candle is placed in the center of the wreath to symbolize God抯 special light of the world.
