The Auto Start Stop, first used by Porsche in the Panamera four-door grand tourer – and only available in conjunction with the twin clutch PDK gearbox – cuts fuel consumption and hence emissions. For instance, if you’re waiting at the traffic lights with your foot on the brakes, the system automatically switches off the engine. As soon as you let go of the brakes, it starts again.
Another new Cayenne variant that has come to our shores is the Cayenne Diesel, priced at RM560,000. Its 3.0-litre V6 unit produces 240bhp and 550Nm of torque, giving a top speed of 218kph.This is the fuel-sipper of the family, capable of doing 7.4 litres/100km.
