Construction is about to begin on one of Springfield's busiest interchanges. Equipment was delivered to the Highway 65 and James River wigs Freeway interchange site on Tuesday. MoDOT says the interchange is the busiest freeway-to-freeway crossroad in Missouri outside of St. Louis and Kansas City. About 125,000 cars and trucks drive through the interchange daily. The project is funded by 2004's Amendment Three, which allows MoDOT to keep more of its funds for highway and bridge improvement. It's expected to be completed in fall of 2012.
