Connect the phones to a switch and test basic phone power
(1)Cable two Cisco IP Phones to a switch
(2) Provide power to the phones using any method
when you configure any IP Phone that might have been previously configured.
The objectives of this lab are as follows.
(1) Erase the current configuration from an IP Phone.
(2) Reset the phone to factory defaults
IP Phones and PCs need to be on differnet networks, but they commonly connect to the same switch, This is a perfect place for VLANs, IP Phone need to be a separate VLAN for the following reasons:
(1) The voice traffic can be tagged and prioritized over other traffic using quality of service.
(2) No other traffic in the same broadcast domain interfaces with the voice traffic.
Voice traffic cannot tolerate any delay, because the packets cannot be resent.
