Linux touchpad related(Redhat Fedora7 Unbuntu)


What is the Synaptics TouchPad?

The TouchPad is a pointing device used in notebooks by Acer, Compaq, Dell, Gateway, Olivetti, TI, Winbook, and others.

Under Fedora7 and Ubuntu, if need to use “synclinet TouchPadOff=0/1” to switch on/off touchpad we need to do the following:

        

By default both Fedora7 and Ubuntu close share memory (We need to access it!)

 

so add these into /etc/X11/xorg.conf to touchpad related section to open share memory:

        

Option SHMconfig     “true”

        

After this restart X server and we can use the command.
