Use number + plural time word + ago to show how far in the past something happened:
She traveled to Europe five years ago.Six months ago we moved to New York.They went shopping two weeks ago.Three days ago you vacuumed.I wrote the email two hours ago.He called two minutes ago.
Use last + time phrase to show when something happened in the past, in relation to right now:
Last year I moved to a new apartment.She cleaned her desk last month.Last week you did the laundry.We did the ironing last night.
