译者序:

为了实施我的PRP项目开发工作，我决定拾起被我一度丢弃的程序人生，好好掌握一门编程语言。选择的过程是痛苦的。。。

最终我决定使用PHP＋Oracle来实现我的PRP项目的首个、也是首要的功能部分—个人财务审计系统，用来代替我使用了多年的Microsoft Money。

PHP 对我来说是一个全新的东西，为在我的opensolaris 系统上搭建一个开发环境，花了很多时间来搜寻资料。搜索工具软件的同时也收集了一些技术参考资料用来学习使用PHP语言和开发工具，其中就包括这本<>。这是一本很受欢迎的非官方技术手册，我决定在阅读的同时顺便制作一份译本，全当是学习笔记，方便日后查阅。
