Robert Lange has announced the first release candidate of 5.8 Live, together with a new beta build of the special Beryl edition: "The
Vector development team is proud to announce the release of Vector
Linux 5.8 Standard LIVE RC1 and the eye-candy spectacular Beryl Live
beta4. These are bug-fix releases. The hard drive installer has been
fixed and should be working for all. The Beryl edition has many updated
features, including X.Org 7.2, Beryl and Emerald 0.2rc1 packages, and
new graphics. The kernel source and all development packages are now
included. Now you can try out a nice 3D desktop with the Beryl CD or,
