The name
represents a new project and distribution created by a recent split in
the KANOTIX developer community. After two months of work, the initial
preview version of sidux 2007-01 has been released for public testing: "I
have the pleasure to announce the first public preview for sidux
2007-01. This release is a proof of concept for the sidux building
environment. What's on the menu: amd64 and i686; Debian 'sid', up to
date as of 2007-01-24; kernel 2.6.19.2; minimal, but fully functional
KDE 3.5.5; completely overhauled live mode; largely adapted installer;
