I don’t like , don’t like CHANEL, nor GUCCI, none of the big brands. Because I can’t afford them. Typical sour grape mentality. Luckily, not all designer brand items are worth buying, which makes another perfect reason for my sour grape mentality. My close friend J has recently bought a Louis Vuitton handbag in Hong Kong. I told her that I had just blown 230 Yuan on a T-shirt from some online store. She casted me a meaningful glance and said:”You called that 230 Yuan thing a blow of money?” I replied that must shopping spree be related with money? I was a poor student. She then casted me another meaningful glance and said:”then I am a poor people carrying Louis Vuitton bag. Who knows my bag is real or fake when I am taking the crowded bus or subway with it? More importantly, as I think not much of my clothes goes well with it, so I just put my bag aside, but I am happy just looking at it. Attitude varies from person to person.”

I told her that I found some of ’s handbags looked really old-fashioned. You guess what she replies? She said:”And you are studying fashion design. I guess you probably end up running a small boutique and selling cheap clothes at best.”
After all, there are many rich people in the world and the number of people who only have big designer clothes in their wardrobes is also astonishing. You can call me green eyed monster, say I got a wrong mindset or I am superficial. I still firmly believe in “fashion fast”. A sharp shopper is not as good as a smart dresser, or a creative mix-and-matcher. That is why Kate Moss never gets out of fashion for so many years. Many say that Kate is old and has nothing new to show, and many take pleasure in comparing her with Agyness, who had enjoyed popularity for a time. Well, yep, Agyness, she was really at the height of her popularity then. When I first saw her, I did like her, for her refreshing appearance. Then I followed every update of her street fashion shoots, saw how her was exalted to the skies by the media. Her dress sometimes was quite a shock but that didn’t bother the media to crown her as “unique spirit”, “queen of new mix-and-match era” and the like. Although she did dress well some of the times, I think she mostly concerned about how to steal the spotlight and came up with shocking looks, which accounts for her being included in the list of annoying persons by a British magazine. If a person is good at mixing and matching, then he/she is capable of showing style in cheap clothes (horrible execution of the clothes is not concerned). What’s currently in the fashion may not necessarily fit you. The most popular doesn’t equal to the best. You are the one to use luxury goods, do not let your designer handbags and clothes carry you, wear you.
