Rising costs
China's CPI consists of eight primary components: food, clothing, household items, healthcare, transportation, entertainment and education. From July 2006 to July 2007, the price of meat grew by 45 percent. However, the price of transportation and communications dropped by 1.3 percent. In fact, overall, prices are relatively stable, apart from food. On the other hand, the food price rise is actually good news for farmers.
