Introduction
These quickstart guides are intended to provide you with simple instructions on how to install Nagios from source (code) and have it monitoring your local machine inside of 20 minutes. No advanced installation options are discussed here - just the basics that will work for 95% of users who want to get started.

If you are installing Nagios on an operating system or Linux distribution that isn't listed above, read the for an overview of what you'll need to do. Command names, paths, etc. vary widely across different OSes/distributions, so you'll likely need to tweak the installation docs a bit to work for your particular case.
