A Spaceman Came Traveling

 

 

A spaceman came travelling on his ship from afar
外太空人从远方乘着飞船漫游
Towards light-years of time since his mission did start
他穿梭在许多光年的旅程中以完成他的使命
And over a village he halted his craft
当他抵达地球中的一个村落，他即停止飞行
And it hung in the sky like a star, just like a star
飞船有如高挂在夜空中的一颗明亮的星辰, 就如同一颗明亮的星辰

 

 

He followed a light and came down to a shed
他沿着一道光芒而降落在一间小屋前方
Where a mother and a child were lying there on a bed
小屋中正躺着一位母亲和刚出生的婴儿
A bright light of silver shone around his head
外太空人的头上闪烁着一片银色的亮光
And he had the face of an angel , And they were afraid
脸孔就像天使般的慈祥, 但他们仍然惊慌

 

 

Then the stranger spoke, he said "Do not fear,
这位不速之客却说：「请不要害怕！
I come from a planet a long way from here,
我从远方的星球而来
And I bring a message for mankind to hear."
为人类带来一个讯息和希望」
And suddenly the sweetest music filled the air
忽然美妙的乐章响起，悠扬在夜风之中

 

 

And it went "La la la....."
它演奏着歌颂着：「啦 啦 啦.......
Peace and good will to all men
和平与安祥将将永远伴随着充满热望的人
And love for the child
并将爱心奉献给每个婴孩」

 

 

This lovely music went trembling through the ground
这美好的音乐弥漫在漆黑的大地上
And many will waken on hearing that sound
动人的乐章将熟睡中的人们轻轻唤醒
And travellers on the road, the village they found
在路上的旅人都来到村落之中
By the light of that ship in the sky which shone all around
只因被夜空中飞船的光采所吸引

 

 

And just before dawn at the paling of the sky
就在即将破晓的时分，云霞乍现的天际
The stranger returned and said "Now I must fly,
此一过客返回了飞船并说：「现在正是我要离去的时候，
When two thousand years of your time has gone by
你们的时间两千年以后
This song will begin once again, to a baby's cry."
此曲将会随着一个婴儿的哭喊声再度响起！
