These years, the population of the old people is increasing, so it has become a popular topic that who should be responsible for taking care of our old people. In this essay, I will propose two solutions.
In some countries, such as Britian, some old people choose to live in a home with other old people where professionals are hired by the government to look after them. Obviously, this approach has advantages because the government has the power and fund which are required to support this welfare. To establish such a large system, the government has to be involved to lead and coordinate social resources. However, there may be concerns about the nurses' ability, not in terms of medication skills, but in more psychological care aspect. Conflicts may occur between the old people and the professionals because they are not familiar with each other from the beginning.
It is evident that the younger generation should play an important role in taking care of our old people. By living together, the two generations can get closer and the family bonds can be strengthened. Family members would become alienated if they are apart from each other for a long period. A man who was taken care of by his parents when he's a kid should be aware that it's his responsibility to look after his old parents when he grows up. It is a way to return the love which was given before, though some may worry that the man is occupied by his work and children.
Generally speaking, the old people is an important part of our society, so we all should realize that everyone has the obligation to take good care of our old people.
