A UN congress reports says there are significant gaps in the American intelligence about Iran's neuclear program and it's ties with the terrorist's group. The report released Wednesday by the US house intelligence committee says US intelligence agency should proivide better information about Iran's Necleur, biological and chemical weapon programs as well as it's polical and economical developments. The reports says the lack of solid intelligence that provide policy makers that creating strategy to deal with Iran in the US negotiations with Iran.

 

German * says Iran 's reponse to an international proposal regarding Iran's necleur program is not satisfactory. In an interview on German television the * said Iran 's reponse does not say what was hold in the * and activities.

Defense Minister Pranab Mukherjee says India is considering withdrawing the nearly 700 soldiers deployed along the Israeli-Lebanon border by the end of the month when their current/ term expires. He gave no reason for the possible pullout. Officials say their troops will remain in place until the positions they occupy are taken over by a new United Nations force. The possible withdrawal of the Indian contingent comes as the UN crumbles to put together a force of about 15,000 peacekeepers in Lebanon. They would oversee the ceasefire between Israel and Lebanese militant group Hezbollah that ended more than a month of fighting. The UN currently has 2,000 troops in the area. It has urged the international community to commit more troops. Defense analysts in India say several countries are worried that the peacekeepers may be allowed greater use of force if the focus in Lebanon moves from
/ peacekeeping to peace-enforcement and do not want to be sucked

US officials say a military operation in eastern Afghanistan killed 7 suspected Al-Qaeda operatives. Correspondent Benjamin Sand reports from the VOA South Asia Bureau. At least 35 suspected militants have been killed in 2 days of fighting in various locations throughout the country.

US spokesman Sergeant Chris Miller says the latest fighting occurred on Thursday during a predawn raid targeting a suspected Al-Qaeda hideout in the eastern province of Kuna.

"Afghan coalition forces came under
direct
fire when they approached a compound and defended themselves with return fire."

He says a number of suspected terrorists were killed in the raid and 4 others were detained after the firefight. A large cache of weapons, ammunitions and grenades were taken from the compound. US officials say a young child was also killed during the battle. American forces have launched a series of operations in the region pursuing Al-Qaeda and Taliban militants. Separately, NATO and Afghan forces in southern Afghanistan killed at least 29 suspected Taliban insurgents on Wednesday. Benjamin Sand, VOA news, Islamabad.
