IMPORTANT:
1. This release of the IBM DS4000 Storage Manager 9.19 supports
Microsoft Windows Server 2003 SP1/R2 X64 editions for servers with AMD
AMD64 and Intel EM64T processor technology on the DS4100, DS4200,
DS4300, DS4400, DS4500, DS4700 and DS4800 storage subsystems. This
support requires specific versions of the following:
- DS4000 Microsoft Windows MPIO or RDAC driver as stated in section 1.4
(of this readme file)
- DS4000 controller firmware as stated in section 1.5.
- Fibre Channel Host bus adapter device driver as stated in section
3.2.
- Microsoft Windows Server 2003 STORport hot-fix KB916048 - An updated
Storport storage driver (version 5.2.3790.2723)
For support of Microsoft Windows Server 2003 SP1/R2 X64 editions for
servers with AMD AMD64 and Intel EM64T processor technology on other
DS4000 storage subsystems, contact your IBM reseller or representative
or check the DS4000 interoperability matrix at the following Web site:
2. Microsoft Windows host attachment to the DS4200, DS4700 or DS4800 storage
subsystems requires the additional purchase of the IBM DS4000 Microsoft
Windows operating system Host Kit Option or Feature Code. The IBM DS4000
Microsoft Windows Host Kit options contain the required IBM licensing to
attach an Microsoft Windows Host System to the DS4200, DS4700 or DS4800.
Please contact your IBM service representative or IBM reseller for
purchasing information. This host kit is shipped as standard in the
DS4200 storage subsystem models 7VH, DS4700 storage subsystem models 70H
and 72H and the DS4800 storage subsystem models 80H, 82H, 84H and 88H.
4. The Microsoft Windows NT4 is not supported with this version of the IBM
System Storage?DS4000 Storage Manager. In addition, the only DS4000
Storage Manager host software support on Microsoft Windows XP
Professional operating system is the DS4000 Storage Manager client
program.
5. Review section 3.2 "Hardware status and information" for the list of
recommended fibre channel host bus adapters and their driver versions.
