Several days ago, I installed a latest Ubuntu, code named Karmic, on my Compaq 6910p for its good reputation and easy to use. Well, I have to say I've fallen in love with her:) This is the list of configuration or features annoy me much.
1. No sound recording by default.
SOLUTION: Open "System => Preferences => Sound", click the tab named "Input" and uncheck "mute" check box and adjust "Unamplified" progress bar. Via this you can record your voice through gnome-sound-recorder and have a VOIP phone call with friends:)
2. Wifi LED blinks when there's network traffic.
SOLUTION: After a google search it seems that a lot of guys complaining on this. And I solve it by following the instruction here: It seems that this is an enhancement provided by Intel. Come on Intel engineers, what wrong with you, do you really think we love it?
