PGA_AGGREGATE_TARGET参数在Shared Server (MTS)环境下不工作

PURPOSE

To inform DBAs and analysts that automatic PGA memory management mode cannot be
used for shared server (MTS) connection.


SCOPE & APPLICATION

Used by DBAs who are trying to setup automatic PGA memory management in a
shared server environment.


AUTOMATIC PGA MEMORY MANAGEMENT DOES NOT WORK IN A MTS ENVIRONMENT
-------------------------------------------------------------------

When running under automatic PGA memory management mode, sizing of workareas
for all DEDICATED connections become automatic.  The size of work areas
allocated by shared Oracle servers is still controlled by the old *_AREA_SIZE
parameters, because these work areas are allocated mainly in SGA and not in PGA.

As a result, automatic PGA memory allocation cannot be used in a shared server
(MTS) environment.  It is designed to work for dedicated environments only.
