classic dialog :
(1). A : Why didn't Petter take his umbrella to work today?
   B : He didn't known it was going to rain , If he had known it was going to rain , He    would have taken his umbrella to work

(2). A : Why weren't you in class yesterday?
   B : I wasn't feeling well , If I had been feeling well I would have been in class yesterday .
  
(3). A : Why didn't you do you homework last night?
   B : I didn't bring my book home , If I had brought my book home , I would have done my homework .
  
(4). A : Why didn't you come to the party last night?
   B : I wasn't invited , If I had been invited , I would have come to the party.
  
(5). A : Why didn't you go to the movie with your friends last night?
   B : I wasn't in the mood to see the movie , If I had been in the mood , I would have gone to see the movies.

 (从句) ==> 一般过去时 或者 should/were to 等 + 动词原形,
 (主句) ==> would/should/might等 + 动词原形
 
 A : If you were to miss the party , you would be sorry for it.
 B : Forget it , I go to different party every night. This one isn't so special.
