Nike tennis shoe inspired by Louisiana crawfish boil - New Orleans Celebrity Style
When done correctly, a fantastic Louisiana crawfish boil might be nothing short of stylish, knowning that was precisely the case unveiled on August 13, 2014, if this came to Nike's newest skateboard shoe. The kicks are definitely the product of local board shop Rukus, that has locations in Baton Rouge, Lafayette and Mandeville.
Hunter Hulin, who works within the Baton Rouge location and designed these shoes, said shortly fater he began designing them after he heard of Nike's "Support Your Local" program, which promotes the project of locally-based skateboard shops.
"They don't really say, 'here are a couple of templates.' They make you would like it. You have to approach them, say 'I think I have ideas,'" Hulin said. His fun-fueled expression session ended in a familiar pattern in the crawfish boil box. He shared his help Nike and today fans on the shop, the Louisiana Boil, and also the crawfish can rejoice. This call failed to go unheard. Fast forward towards the here now and behold, the Nike SB Dunk Low Crawfish with the summer of '14.
Hulin caused Rukus' local Nike representative around the designs, that happen to be inspired by a great 'ole Louisiana crawfish boil. Bands of red are speckled with maroon -- paying homage to an actual boiled crawfish-- and yellow swatches around the heels evoke the hints of corn in the tasty boil. Newsprint peeks rid of behind the signature Nike swoosh, to illicit a similar newsprint seen with a box with the popular Zatarain's crawfish boil.
"The main thing would have been to make it a story, not just morph it into a shoe. You can throw colors on the shoe to make it look awesome, but I wanted it to mean something for shop and with the state," he was quoted saying.
Officially, the sneakers go by the name Rukus Board Shop x Nike SB Dunk Low Crawfish and they're going to go into national release on Aug. 16, according to The Advertiser. The shoe will likely be available at Rukus on Jefferson Street and stores across the nation that carry Nike skateboarding gear. The shoes will retail for $105. Rukus says they'll have shirts along with apparel to mark the occasion.
