-迟到20分钟了啊，那看来是不来了，你被人放鸽子啦，被人狠狠地放了鸽子。

-没有啦，男人很会迟到。我有一次等了一个男的三天呢。但他带着收到的赎金来了，从此我也摆脱了住冰箱的生活。

(1)stand up
站起来；坚持；竖立；站得住脚；拥护。[口语]失约，让人(尤指异性)空等；[美国俚语]中止恋爱关系；解除婚约。

例句

(2)ransom
做动词的意思是“赎回，赎；勒索赎金；救赎；得赎金后释放”，做名词的意思是“赎金；赎身，赎回”。

例句
Should I ransom my freedom?
我应该赎回我的自由么？

The police caught the man who tried to abduct the boy for ransom.
警察抓住了那个企图拐走这男孩以便勒索赎金的家伙。
