Brown, bleeding to death from a fatal stab wound to the heart, fired several gunshots at the fleeing Merchant, according to testimony in the twoday trial.

The prosecutor said it is likely Merchant hid his knife it had a 3inch blade in his hand as he and Brown stood face to face and Brown suckerpunched him in the face.

Giardini said Merchant demonstrated stabbing Brown in the shoulder blade, saying he did not mean to seriously harm him. Santa Fe took advantage of some Southmoore miscues as they opened a 20point lead in the first quarter. A penalty on 4thand1 gave the Wolves a fresh set of downs on the opening possession, but they only need one more. Westbrook sprinted 43 yards for the first score of the game.

Southmoore fumbled later in the quarter, which led to a 35yard touchdown pass from Hansen to Trevan Smith. And another penalty on fourth down kept a Santa Fe scoring drive alive in the closing minutes of the period. Hansen tossed another TD, hitting Mendenhall with 11.4 seconds left for a 200 lead.

But it didn take long for that threescore lead to slip away . Kentrell Henderson rushed for two scores and Tr Edwards threw for another as the Sabercats roared back to make it a 2018 game at the half.

Southmoore inched closer with a 37yard run by Jaelon Walker, but the Wolves wouldn let it slip. Hansen threw two more touchdowns and added another with his feet.
