The dispute centers on Apple'sdissatisfaction with Google's entry into the phone market when the search company released its Android operating system and announced any company could use it free of cost.

Google entered the market while its thenCEO was on Apple's board, infuriating Apple cofounder , who considered Android to be a blatant ripoff of the iPhone's innovations. Apple filed its patent infringement lawsuit in April 2011, engaging the country's highestpaid patent lawyers to demand $2.5 billion.

The verdict didn't faze some iPhone users, who said that they already know Apple phones are superior.

The rivals are "modeling phones based on what they see with the iPhone," said of Wareham, Mass., finishing a call on his iPhone while waiting to catch a train.

He switched to Apple from a BlackBerry about a year ago, after becoming disenchanted with the reliability and technological features of nonApple smartphones.

Preserving jobs at mills is important to the 57yearold congressman who was once a mill worker himself.

Michaud says, "I've always felt that we've got to do whatever we can to encourage new growth. new businesses, but we've also got to keep what we have."

He touts his work helping veterans get access to the help they need, expanding broadband access in northern Maine, and making it easier for small businesses to get money to grow.

Michaud explains, "One of the biggest concerns I hear from small business in Maine is access to capital."

Another thing Michaud focuses on is trade.

He says he works to make sure Maine's mills and factories are on an equal playing field with foreign companies.

Right now, Michaud is pushing the military and President Obama to enforce a rule that could mean more business for Maine's New Balance shoe factories.

"Under current law, the Department of Defense is supposed to supply our military from head to toe with Americanmade clothing," Michaud explains. "They're given an allowance for athletic footwear. That's how they're getting around the law."
