IBM Tivoli Monitoring

ITM is a consolidated monitoring of physical and virtual resources; all data including realtime data and historical data is available from TEP(Tivoli Enterprise Portal); long term historical data is managed by TDW(Tivoli Data Warehouse);

Tivoli Enterprise Monitoring Agents(TEMA) are the data collectors for enterprise monitoring solution. They are installed to gather data from one or multiple systems that are critical for your business. Data that is collected by the agents is sent to a central repository called the TEMS(Tivoli Enterprise Monitoring Server). Agents are type-specific(l.e. Unix, Linux, Windows, SAP, DB2). The granularity is frequently per instance(l.e. Database, MQ Queue Manager, Message Broker).

The Tivoli Enterprise Monitoring Server(TEMS) can be seen as the central repository for all monitoring configuration. It particularly stores the definitions for conditions that indicate a problem with a particular resource.
The key purpose of the Tivoli Enterprise Portal Server(TEPS) is to act as the visualization server for the system, and to provide the bridge between the human and the management system.
The TEP client is the UI client for ITM. Two types of TEP clients are provided, the desktop and the browser mode.
