What gives you the biggest work buzz?The events we put on that showcase the work local people have created with us. I coming to the end of a big Mediabox project that is being showcased in the Forum exhibition space and will continue until the end of June. I find, particularly working with young people, that it really opens your eyes to the talent and creativity that Barrow youth have. They come up with amazing ideas and the films and graphic work they have created is an absolute credit to their passion and enthusiasm. You can see the Mediabox work again from June 5 to 15. I recommend everyone gets along to see it!What should Furness do to create more jobs?I think that it has to start on the street level and Furness needs to continue putting money into encouraging businesses back into the town centres and also encourage Sunday shopping. Once the core shopping needs are there, other businesses will flourish.Have you been affected by the credit crunch?At Signal Films we rely on public support and, as a result of the credit crunch, unfortunately a lot of arts and film grants are being cut. I think it makes us work harder to provide projects that really help benefit the community and improve aspirations, as I think is important in helping communities move on from the credit crunch.What would you like a government to do for your group of companies?Officially we may be out of the recession but there is a long way to go in terms of decreasing unemployment and raising confidence in the public to spend and get the economy moving. I hope that the new Dave/Nick don have too many differences in regards to putting money into grants for the arts. I think providing high quality creative schemes can have so many benefits to a community. I know the young people who took part in the recent Mediabox workshops would agree!What has the internet done for you?Reconnected me with many old friends and helped me keep in touch with new ones. Allowed for a huge amount of knowledge at my fingertips and also helped me waste a large amount of time regularly!Creative Cow it taught me everything I know!
