Information in this document applies to any platform.
GOAL
The following features are now included in Oracle GoldenGate Plug-in Release 12.1.0.2.0

Control Extract and Replicate target types by:
-
Initiating start, stop, and kill commands
-
Editing parameter and include files.
-
Access report and discard files to understand processing and diagnose problems.
-
Audit logging enabled to collect process operations and file access. Messages are recorded into the server log.
-
Partially view ggserr.log file content within Enterprise Manager Cloud Control and download the complete file to your local system.
In order to use these new features the plugin must have Preferred Credentials for
-
Host Credentials
-
OGG Admin Credentials
properly set in OEM 12c console
SOLUTION
The following sequence of screen captures show how to properly configure Host Credentials and OGG Admin Credentials
for Oracle GoldenGate Plug-in Release 12.1.0.2.0
1. Login to OEM 12c console and click Setup -> Security -> Preferred Credentials
2. On Target Type column highlight Oracle GoldenGate then click Manage Preferred Credentials button
3. Make sure My Preferences tab is the ACTIVE tab as here is where

Host Credentials
-
OGG Admin Credentials
will be added to Default Preferred Credentials and Target Preferred Credentials sections on this page.
4. On the Default Preferred Credentials section, highlight Host Credentials, click Set button.
Enter a Named or New credential for the Unix user that installed Oracle Management Agent (OMA) and Save the changes.
NOTE:
If the Unix user that installed Oracle Management Agent (OMA) is not part of the Unix group for GoldenGate Unix user
then the following errors will appear in gcagent.log:

This error indicates Oracle Management Agent user has no access to $OGG_HOME/dirrpt/* files.
To resolve this issue, ADD the GoldenGate Unix group to the Oracle Management Agent Unix user.
5. On the Default Preferred Credentials section, highlight OGG Admin Credentials, click Set button.
Enter a Named or New credential for the jagent user that is configured in Config.properties file (jagent.username=)
and the Unix password for this user.
then Save the changes.
6. On the Target Preferred Credentials section, highlight the OGG registered instance for "Host Credentials" then click Set button
Select Named Credential already stored for Unix user that installed GoldenGate then click "Test and Save" button.
7. On the Target Preferred Credentials section, highlight the OGG registered instance for "OGG Admin Credentials" then click Set button
Select Named Credential already stored for jagent/OGG Monitor Agent user and Save the changes.
Once the credentials are setup correctly they should display in OEM console the same as this screen below and new functionality of the plugin
such as stop/start OGG processes and view logs will work correctly.
