There is no point in commenting on blogs if your comment isn?t going to be approved, now the main reason your comment is going to be marked as SPAM (Not posted) is almost always because the owner/person going though the comments thinks that your comment is only posted because you are trying to gain back links to your website and lets be honest, that is the main reason why people comment on blogs these days.
To improve the chance of getting your comment approved, you should always comment on the latest post made, I?ve noticed when commenting on blogs, I get more traffic and also a faster approved speed when commenting on the latest post. You should always post on the latest post, you don?t have to, but being honest, I don?t see the point in commenting on old-posts which hardly anybody still reads.
The content of what the comment says is very important, now if you don?t want to spend ages reading though the content of the post your about to comment on, a great tip which I sometimes use, depending on how interesting the article is, you read other peoples comments and just rewrite what they?ve said already. The fact that their comment has already been approved or you wouldn?t be reading it, says that it?s a approved comment to the web master.
I always try to comment on blogs which are related to mine, the reason for this being, it means I?ll be receiving direct-traffic, as well as another back link, both are very important in SEO. You should always aim for do-follow blogs, but I do comment on popular no-follow blogs for the targeted traffic, not just the back links.
