GREEN BAY, Wis,. -- With Tom Crabtree gone,, the Green Bay Packers found a tight end to replace him, signing Matthew Mulligan.Mulligan, 28, spent last season with the St. Louis Rams where he had a career-high eight receptions. Mulligan went undrafted out of Maine in 2008 and played three seasons for the New York Jets from 2008-2011. In three years with the Jets, Mulligan totaled only six catches. But the Packers didn't sign Mulligan for his pass-catching ability,. Mulligan is, however, a very good run-blocker. Last season, 262 of his 411 snaps were on running plays, according to ProFootballFocus,.com, which graded Mulligan with a positive run-blocking rating.Mulligan will compete with snaps at tight end in Green Bay with Jermichael Finley, Andrew Quarless, D.J,. Williams, Ryan Taylor and practice-squad member Brandon Bostick.Follow Paul Imig on Twitter.
