　　明年三月，一个7层的Dover Street Market将在日本东京的购物区开业。Rei Kawakubo在很多方面看起来像是建筑师和室内设计师，她总是穿着全黑的，对于自己的要求极高。现年68岁的Rei Kawakubo给Azzedine Alaia, John Galliano等许多带来了灵感，现在的她还是每天工作12小时，一周7天从不间断，她曾戏称自己是靠设计而活的。

　　Rei Kawakubo对的新面貌也起到了很大的作用。90年代初期，圈的合作仅仅限于邀请某个模特拍摄宣传照等，当时的Rei Kawakubo却邀请Junya Watanabe为Comme des Garcons一个系列。2004年，她创立了的Dover Set Market,从那之后，Rei Kawakubo开设了17家独立，和H&M这样的高街品牌合作，引起抢购一空，目前在全球的店面数量多达120间。
